Community Petition: Support for Deaf Gamers
This in from Max Ryser: I was wondering if you'd do not only
me, but also thousands of other deaf videogamers a favor...
I'm trying to have a petition
signed by as many people as possible so
that I can show game developers that there IS a need for them to include
at least an on/off option for subtitles in videogames/PC games.
I for one think that this is a very worthwhile cause (as far as
videogaming and PC gaming are concerned, of course), and it'd help
tremendously if
people started voicing their support for their fellow deaf gamers and game
developers took notice.
And a recent update: I got an e-mail from Cameron Ferroni at
Xbox.com, saying that they got my e-mail and are looking into it -- so
that's good, but more
publicity definitely needs to be generated to really apply the pressure on
Microsoft and other developers in order for the whole cause to
succeed.

The last two days of cartoons, and the next couple of weeks, are submissions in the UF by UFies contest. There are some talented and, um, unusual minds out there.
As for the long-term prognosis of new UF 'toons, I can at least now offer you something a little less vague. In November I'll be doing a story arc dedicated to Remembrance Day. I expect the arc to run for roughly two weeks. Before that will be repeats. After the Remembrance Day arc...I'm not entirely sure. Life has changed significantly for me and promising a daily cartoon would be unfair to you, not to mention inaccurate and unrealistic. I'm considering a thrice-per-week schedule, but even that is fuzzy around the edges. But I promise by the end of the November story arc I'll have hammered out some kind of realistic plan, whatever that may be. So remember, remember, the somethingth of November. :)
Thank you, by the way, for sticking with it this far, if you have! As a very dear friend of mine says, "I wish only good things for you."
